Product Description:
MF899 Structural Weatherproofing Silicone Joint Sealant is a high-performance, neutral-cure silicone sealant designed for structural glazing and curtain walls in commercial and industrial buildings. Engineered for superior adhesion and long-term durability, this sealant provides exceptional strength and weather resistance, ensuring reliable structural integrity in demanding applications.
With excellent resistance to UV, temperature fluctuations, and extreme weather conditions, MF899 maintains its flexibility and performance over time, making it an ideal choice for structural bonding and weatherproofing in high-rise buildings, glass facades, and metal panel systems.
MF899 is specifically formulated for structural and weatherproofing applications in commercial and industrial buildings, including:
- Structural Glazing Systems, Provides strong, flexible bonding for glass-to-metal and metal-to-metal structural assemblies.
- Curtain Wall and Cladding Systems, Ensures a high-strength seal for aluminum panels, glass facades, and stone panel joints.
- Expansion Joints and Perimeter Seals, Maintains elasticity and weatherproofing in walls, windows, and roofs.
- Concrete and Masonry Joints, Seals and protects precast panel joints and exterior façades from water and air infiltration.
- Commercial and High-Rise Applications, Ideal for skyscrapers, office buildings, shopping centers, and large-scale architectural projects.

- ASTM C1184, Specifically engineered and tested for structural glazing applications; meets the rigorous standards for adhesion, strength, and weather resistance.
- ISO 11600, Certified for long-term performance under extreme environmental conditions, including UV exposure and thermal cycling.
- VOC Compliant, Low-emitting formulation approved for LEED projects and sustainable building designs.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, oils, or other contaminants. Clean substrates with isopropyl alcohol or acetone where necessary. Primer is not required for most substrates, however highly porous surfaces may benefit from priming to improve adhesion.
- Application: Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size and load the cartridge into a standard caulking gun. Apply the sealant in a continuous, even bead to ensure full joint coverage. Tool the sealant within 10 minutes of application to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
- Finishing: Allow the sealant to cure based on ambient temperature and humidity. Skin-over time typically occurs within 30 minutes to 2 hours. Partial cure occurs within 24 to 48 hours, with full cure generally achieved within 7 days. Remove uncured sealant with isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirits. Cured sealant must be removed mechanically.
